I had laser eye surgery seventeen years ago with Mr Stevens which improved the quality of my life and I never experienced any problems until this past year when I noticed a deterioration in my eyesight generally but particularly with night driving.
I went back to Mr Stevens, whilst some of the deterioration is age related, early stage cataracts was diagnosed as a problem. I decided not to wait for further deterioration which was an option. The process as a whole took a couple of hours although the two stage process took less than 20 minutes. The results have been remarkable, I can now read mostly without glasses and my long sight is a revelation.
I can thoroughly recommend Mr Stevens and his team.

Last summer I made the decision to get my eyes lasered and it was possibly the best decision I have ever made for myself. Firstly, Julian’s team are so professional, caring and kind individuals who show a genuine interest in you and your journey. The surgery was flawlessly performed from start to finish, I was done in 15 minutes. I followed all of the aftercare and the follow up appointments and now after seeing Julian this week to do some scans my eyes are better than anyone could have expected. It has completely changed my life and the quality of my experiences. Before I got the surgery you get the sceptics who are trying to scare you and tell you reasons why you should put up with wearing glasses/lenses but I just knew that yes it was going to be an investment, however If you’re want to get It done and your not sure please believe me when i say that you will never regret it and you will just be so happy with the result that you will want to tell everyone who is thinking about it to just go for it!! Thanks so much Julian. Keep changing lives.

Absolutely Incredible Service – So happy I had the Surgery!

I would like to share here about the exceptional eye care I have received from Mr Stevens over many years. I was introduced to him approximately 13 years ago at a point in my life when my eyesight had deteriorated so badly I was at risk of losing quality of life due to becoming contact lens intolerant and unable to get any meaningful sight through wearing glasses so thick I could not see properly anyway. I was at a point where I was becoming housebound due to difficulty in confidence about going out safely because I could not see and I was embarrassed about my appearance. After an amazing consultation with Mr Stevens I was able to have some ground breaking surgery to implant prescription lenses into my eyes and therefore giving me best vision that could not be achieved with traditional methods of sight correction. I remain to this day a patient of Mr Stevens as my eye condition is an ongoing journey that requires careful monitoring and care. I am eternally grateful and thankful to have met Mr Stevens and benefitted from his extraordinary skills and expertise - I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Biography
Julian Stevens won a scholarship to study Medicine at Merton College, University of Oxford, where he was then awarded a Postmaster scholarship. He graduated top of his year in 1980 and was awarded the Oxford University Prize in Medicine for the top First Class Honours Degree. He continued his clinical medical training at Clare College, University of Cambridge and at the Cambridge Medical School. Higher training was undertaken at the Oxford Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London.
After completing his general ophthalmic surgical training, he undertook two years of sub-specialist training, with Fellowships in Lens, Corneal and then Refractive Surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Mr Stevens was appointed as Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital in January 1996. His main interest is laser refractive surgery. He has been involved in the development and application of wavefront refractive surgery and has personally performed over 10,000 wavefront procedures. Mr Stevens was the first Director of Refractive Surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital.
Mr Stevens is an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and holds the Certification of the Royal College in Laser Refractive Surgery. He is an advisor to the British Society for Refractive Surgery and is on the Board of the International Society of Refractive Surgery. He has won prizes from both the American and the European Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He is the recipient of the 2007 American Academy of Ophthalmology (ISRS/ AAO) Lans award for innovation in refractive surgery.
Internationally recognised as an expert opinion leader, Mr Stevens has published peer reviewed papers on refractive surgery and is regularly invited to deliver keynote lectures at national and international ophthalmic meetings. Mr Stevens trains Ophthalmic Surgeons in advanced refractive and cataract surgery. He founded the Moorfields basic and advanced IntraLASIK courses and the Moorfields wavefront training course for Ophthalmic Surgeons.
